Church Offering Count and Restricted Funds Spreadsheet Pack
$13.99
A practical place to start is the path from the plate to the bank. Two people should agree on the count. Restricted money should not quietly go negative. The deposit should show up in the reconciliation.

Does the Sunday count never quite match the deposit, and does the bank rec never quite tie?
This pack is built for church treasurers and does the math for you: a two-counter offering count, a restricted funds tracker and a monthly bank reconciliation. Most templates assume one owner and one checking account. A church needs two unrelated counters on the offering, donor-restricted and board-designated funds that never quietly go below zero, and a bank rec the board can actually review. These workbooks check each of those for you, so mistakes surface now instead of months later in front of the finance committee.
Does the math. Flags errors. • Offering count: the same counter selected twice, counters from one household, a counter not on the roster, tallies that don't match the count, cash by fund that's off, a deposit that doesn't match the count or is made later than your policy • Funds tracker: a restricted fund overspent or overdrawn, a time restriction that has ended, fund balances that don't equal cash • Bank reconciliation: books still off from the bank after posting (and by how much), debits and credits that don't match, cash and fund balances that differ, the same person preparing and reviewing
What's included • Church_Offering_Count_Pack.xlsx + EXAMPLE: two-counter Sunday count with denomination grid, checks list, deposit match and counter rotation log • Church_Funds_Tracker.xlsx + EXAMPLE: restricted and board-designated fund balances with a red flag when a fund goes below zero • Church_Bank_Reconciliation_Workbook.xlsx + EXAMPLE: 12-month church bank reconciliation with outstanding items and reviewer sign-off • Church_Sample_Chart_of_Accounts.xlsx: editable sample chart of accounts and fund list, used as the dropdown source for the other workbooks Plain-English Start Here tabs. No macros.
How it works 1. Open the EXAMPLE files to see each workbook filled in. 2. Edit the sample chart of accounts and fund list to match your church. 3. Each Sunday: two counters record the count in the Offering Count Pack and match it to the deposit. 4. As money comes in and goes out: post it to the right fund in the Funds Tracker. 5. Each month: reconcile the bank statement, have someone else review it, and sign off.
Works with excel & google sheets Excel: unzip the download, open any.xlsx file and start on the Start Here tab. Google Sheets: File > Import > Upload, choose the.xlsx and create a new spreadsheet. Repeat for each file you need.
See it filled in first The count, funds and bank rec workbooks each come with a filled EXAMPLE copy for a fictional church. Keep the EXAMPLE files as a reference and work in the blank files.
Who this is for Part-time treasurers at churches of roughly 40 to 250 in attendance who count cash and checks with two unrelated counters and report fund balances to a board or finance committee.
Who this is not for Multi-site setups, denominations that require a locked chart of accounts, anyone looking for tax or legal advice, or a full replacement for accounting software or a church-management system.
