Who we are
This policy covers reconciledbooksco.com and the templates and browser apps sold by ReconciledBooksCo ("we," "us," or "our"). Questions about privacy: contact us through the form.
The short version
- You do not need an account to use this site.
- We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
- This site uses Vercel Web Analytics for aggregated, anonymous page views, and Google Analytics to count visits and which sites or links sent people here. Google Analytics uses cookies. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on.
- Newsletter signup is optional. Kit stores your email only after you subscribe and confirm. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Free downloads are optional. Enter your email on the download page and the file link appears there. We also send the address to Kit for Treasurer notes.
- Your card details go to the payment processor at checkout. We never see them.
- Our browser apps keep your financial data on your own device.
Information collected at checkout
Buy Now and Get it free open checkout in a new tab, run by a third-party checkout provider and its payment processors. To complete an order they collect your name, email address, billing details, and payment information. They share with us what we need to fulfill and support the order: your name, email address, the Product, the price paid, the date, and in some cases your billing country. We use that to deliver your files, answer your questions, keep business and tax records, and prevent fraud.
We never receive or store your full card number. The checkout provider and payment processors handle your information under their own privacy policies, which you can read on the checkout page.
Contact messages
The contact form sends your name, email address, and message to us through Web3Forms, a form delivery service, so we can reply. We use that information only to answer you and keep a record of the conversation. Sending a message does not add you to a mailing list.
Email list
If you subscribe to Treasurer notes, we send your email address to Kit (kit.com), which stores the list and sends the emails. Kit only keeps the address after you subscribe and then confirm it in the email they send you. Until you confirm, you are not on the list. You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in any newsletter, or contact us through the form. We do not sell or rent the list.
Free Excel and PDF downloads on this site use the same Kit list. When you enter your email on a download page, the file link appears on that page right away and is valid for seven days. We also send the address to Kit so you can confirm Treasurer notes. Showing the file does not wait for that confirmation. The files themselves are organizational tools, not tax, legal or accounting advice.
Analytics
This site uses Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly service from the same company that hosts the site. It sets no cookies and does not collect personal information. It records aggregated, anonymous page-view data, such as which pages were opened and roughly where and on which kind of browser, so we can see what is useful.
We also use Google Analytics to count visits and to see which sites or links sent people here. Google Analytics uses cookies. You can opt out with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Share buttons open the official share page on X, LinkedIn, Facebook or Pinterest, or copy the page address. They do not add tracking tags to the link.
Server logs and hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical information about each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Fonts are served from this site, not from a third-party font service.
Cookies and browser storage
Google Analytics uses cookies to count visits and to see which sites or links sent people here. This site does not set its own cookies for login or ads. If you choose light or dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it. That setting never leaves your device, and you can clear it in your browser settings.
Some pages show walkthrough videos in a YouTube player using youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. The player loads as you scroll to it. YouTube, which is part of Google, may store information on your device once you play a video, under Google's privacy policy. The checkout provider may also use cookies on the checkout page, under its own policy.
Data inside our Products
Spreadsheet templates run in Excel, Google Sheets, or another spreadsheet program you choose. Our browser apps run inside your browser and keep your data on your device. We do not receive the numbers, names, or bank details you enter into a Product.
How we share information
We share personal information only with the service providers that run the site and our orders (the checkout provider and payment processors, Web3Forms, Vercel, Google Analytics, and Kit for the newsletter), when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety. If the business is ever sold or transferred, customer records may move with it under this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep order records as long as we need them for tax, accounting, and legal purposes, usually up to seven years. We keep contact messages as long as needed to answer you and handle any follow-up.
Children under 13
The site and the Products are for adults managing books for a business, an organization, a household, or a family. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and data requests
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. Contact us through the form with your request and the email address you used. We may ask you to confirm that the request is yours before we act on it, and we will reply within 30 days. We may keep records the law requires us to keep, such as order and tax records. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's law or the law of your country, and we will honor them. For information held by the checkout provider, we will help you reach them.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and we limit who can see order and contact records. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information we already have, we will say so on this page before it takes effect.
